Policies
Returns
We do not accept returns, refunds, or exchanges on custom orders. If the product purchased is defective upon arrival, please send an email with detailed photographs within 72 hours of the package arriving. I will email you a shipping label to use to return the item to me for repair or replacement free of charge (whichever is deemed necessary by me).
If 72 hours has passed, then the buyer has accepted the product in the condition it was delivered in. Any future repair work is at our discretion.
For Ready-To-Ship items (NOT CUSTOM), returns within 72 hours of package delivery may be accepted or refused at our discretion. A refund will only be issued once the package has arrived back at Double Diamond Customs. If a return is desired, please contact us directly at doublediamondcustomprojects@gmail.com or through the contact form on this website.
Repairs
If the damaged item has been appropriately documented within 72 hours of delivery, then any and all defects upon arrival will be repaired at our expense. This does not extend to damage due to water, pets, lack of maintenance, or other misuse. We would specifically like to highlight that knives, screwdrivers, and pry bars are very different tools with very different uses! We are not responsible for lost knives unless the buyer can prove there was a malfunction in the sheath within 72 hours of delivery.
Payment Policy for Custom Orders
A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the quoted total is due before any work begins or any supplies will be ordered. The remaining balance is not due until the project is completed and a picture is sent to the client. Items will NOT be shipped until they are paid in full. Payment plans are available if requested, with the understanding that they must be fully paid for before the item will leave our shop.
If we are unable to contact a client regarding an order and don't get a reply for 30 consecutive days (without prior arrangements being made), then we will assume the order has been abandoned. Furthermore, if payment is not made for 60 days following an order's completion, we will consider that order to be abandoned. Double Diamond Customs retains the right to sell, salvage, or otherwise utilize abandoned items, with no deposit refund.
Cancellation Policy
In the case of a cancelled custom order, deposits are non-refundable once work has begun on the item. If the item has been shipped, then custom orders cannot be canceled, returned, or exchanged.
Lifetime Guarantee
Craftsmanship has a lifetime guarantee (hardware and stitching). Any and all damage due to misuse, lack of maintenance, pets, or water etc, is not covered. Some repair work is available, for a fee.
Unless specifically requested, our knives are not made from stainless steel. They will rust if you give them the chance. If they get wet, blades should be dried and lightly oiled (olive oil will work if you don't have actual knife/gun oil).
Tooled leather products should be cleaned with leather soap and conditioned or oiled at least annually (does not apply to chap leathers or suede). Leather should be stored in a cool, dry place when not in use (out of direct sunlight). If tooled leather gets wet, let it dry completely before conditioning or oiling. For any item-specific care questions, please reach out to us!
I use high quality delica and czech seed beads in all of my beadwork. These beads are made of glass and should be treated accordingly. Beadwork that is inlaid into leather should NOT be bent towards the beadwork side of the leather pressing the beads into one another and causing breakage. Double Diamond Customs is not responsible for broken beads after the product has been delivered. However, there IS a lifetime guarantee on the beadwork itself (the string aspect). If your beadwork ever unravels in the course of normal wear and tear, please contact us.
Double Diamond Customs is not responsible for products not fitting if the buyer supplies incorrect measurements. Similarly, Double Diamond Customs is not responsible for misspelled words if they are given that way by the client. Please double check all proofs for spelling before approving! After a final sketch has been approved on custom orders, any changes to the project requiring leather to be replaced will incur an additional fee.
Shipping
Items ready-made will ship within 7 days of ordering. If I am out of town and cannot meet this deadline, I will email you directly as soon as possible with more information!
We ship a majority of our products through USPS and FedEx. To protect both us and our buyers, we do include insurance on all of our shipped items. We have figured that into our prices for ready-to-ship items, and it will be added to the shipping price for custom items.
International shipping is available to most countries! Buyer is responsible for all import and duty fees.
Lost Packages
Please allow up to three weeks for packages to arrive from USPS before emailing about lost packages. During the busy season, packages can take up to four weeks domestically to arrive. Double Diamond Customs is not responsible for delays incurred after shipping a package.
Considerations
Please remember that there is a family behind this business. As cattlemen, the health and welfare of our livestock will always take priority over our business. We do our best to meet estimated turnaround times, however, there may occasionally be delays due to livestock sickness or seasonal duties. If you have a specific deadline you need to have the project completed for, please make us aware of that when you place your order. We will do our best to communicate with our custom order clients about any delays if they arise.
